Super Wildcat

This 1964 Buick Riviera was refurbished in 2014, which included refinishing the body in black and trimming the interior in two-tone brown leather. It is powered by a 425ci Super Wildcat V8 with dual four-barrel carburetors mated to a three-speed automatic transmission.

Equipment includes 17″ aftermarket five-spoke wheels, lowered suspension, a dual-exhaust system, quad round headlights, rear bucket seats, air conditioning, and an aftermarket sound system with a Pioneer CD stereo.

We all know about how Luigi turns into a fox rather than a tanuki when he touches the super leaf, but I also want to talk about how he's the only one out of his friends who doesn't turn into a normal house cat when he touches the cat bell?

Up first for the Ivypool's Heart characters, it's Tumble Leap the Wildcat! I really loved this book, and especially the wildcats, so I just had to draw these two. Maybe I'll draw more later, but for now, it'll just be Tumble Leap and Stalk Purr, and two more important characters from that book.

Tumble Leap is not given a physical description beyond his pattern, but his species does not have nearly as much variation in build as domestic cats, so I stuck close to what a Scottish Wildcat should look like. He's a bit shorter and stockier than his mate, but that's about it. I had to play around with the lineart a lot to get him looking the way I wanted, but I'm pretty happy with the end result.

For his pattern, Tumble Leap is described as a brown tabby wildcat. Again, didn't stray too far from what a Scottish Wildcat generally looks like - brown tabby, darker stripes on the points and chest, less pale belly fur, pale green eyes, etc.

Overall, I'm really really happy with how he turned out.

Neal Adams' cover to DC 100-Page Super Spectacular #6 (august, 1971).

This issue reprinted the very first Justice League of America/Justice Society of America crossover from Justice League of America (vol. 1) #21-22 (August & September, 1963). Also featured were solo stories starring the Spectre, Johnny Quick, the Vigilante and Wildcat from the Golden Age, and a Silver Age Hawkman solo story.

There has been some confusion over the years as to why Adams included many characters on this cover who weren't featured in those stories. My theory is that in order to fill-out the cover he decided to include the entire rosters of both the JLA and JSA as they stood in 1971, with Earth-One Robin thrown in for good measure.

The Morning After

The Feline was deep asleep enjoying a sweet dream of Tuna and punchies! When a LOUD banging rang through the house! as Milla was banging a spoon on a pot! the poor cat flipped off the couch! landing on poor snatch With her eyes wide and her teeth clenched in fear! Her heart racing and her tail swishing wildly back and forth! Glaring at the dog girl!

" GOOD MORNING! TIME FOR BREAKFAST!?! "

The feline hissed while pulling herself back onto the couch and off of poor snatch!

" Milla, yer worse the Lilac... couldn't ya like... lemme sleep another 20 hours or so... "

She groaned burying her face in the couch pillow and refusing to look up at Milla or Snatch! She was not a morning person! she needed her cat naps! and the potion really made he sluggish to boot!

But that delicious smell of Jiaozi hit her nose and made her drool! say what you want about Milla's wake up call BUT damn the girl knew how to cook! and it did smell delicious!

I had to take a quick trip east of the mountains last night as I had a 650am meeting at the company where we are doing our Lean green belt work. So I stopped in North Bend, aka Twin Peaks, grabbed some stuff for Henry, and zoomed over the pass. I've kinda got a lead foot, but 5-10 over on I-90 is 80mph, so Gert just zoomed along nicely.

I went to the wrong hotel, but was rewarded by meeting a sweet doggo. Talk about a highly qualified front desk agent!!!

I took the chance last night to do homework in peace. But the noise of having a Henry was sorely missed...

The walk this morning was interesting, but we found the bottleneck pretty quickly. And it's a doozie. It will be interesting to see their commitment to 5S principles, because they seem to think it just means keeping things clean. Reality? It may be clean, but a clusterf@#k is still a clusterf@#k, just cleaner. Thankfully they are super nice folks, and wanting change, so we shall see...

Costco stop on the way home, and now I'm trying to get a restless 4 y.o. into bed. If it's not one battle, it's another. It's just that some battles are cuter than others.
